Are you ready to join the adventure of a lifetime? The Community Theatre of Clay County is thrilled to announce auditions for the upcoming production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Here you will find all the information you need to know about the show, character descriptions, director’s notes, audition information, and tips for a successful audition.

About the Show: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a classic family-friendly musical about an eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts, who creates a magical car that can fly, swim, and drive. Along with his children and love interest Truly Scrumptious, they embark on a fantastic adventure to rescue Grandpa Potts from the evil Baron Bomburst.

Audition Information

. -AUDITIONS for Chitty CHitty Bang Bang will take place on Tuesday January 2nd.

Children: 6:15-7:15pm.

Adults: 7:15.

2 main children: 10-13 year olds

Ensemble: up to 6 additional kids: ages 8 & up.

Come prepared to sing 16-32 bars of a song, read from a script, and do a little movement.

Tips for a Successful Audition:

Choose a song that showcases your vocal range and fits the style of the show
Practice your song and have a backup option prepared
Dress appropriately and comfortably for movement
Be confident and prepared to take direction
Be open to trying new things and taking risks
Have fun and show your passion for the show!

Backstage Help and Technical Assistance

In addition to performers, we are also seeking volunteers for backstage help and technical assistance. If you are interested in helping with costumes, set design, lighting, sound, or any other aspect of the production, we would love to have you on board. No previous experience is necessary – we will provide training and support along the way.
