About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Community Theatre of Clay County is to enrich the cultural life of our community by providing high-quality theatre experiences that engage, inspire, and entertain audiences of all ages. We strive to foster a love for theatre through education and outreach programs, and to promote a sense of community spirit by working together to bring the performing arts to Clay County and beyond.

History

The Community Theatre of Clay County was established in 1983 as a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality theatrical performances in Clay County, Indiana. The group began as a small group of dedicated actors and volunteers who shared a love of theatre and a desire to bring live performances to their community.

Over the years, the organization has grown in both size and reputation, performing a wide variety of plays and musicals for audiences of all ages. The theatre has also expanded its outreach efforts, providing theatre education programs for local youth and community members.

As the Community Theatre of Clay County celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2023, it remains committed to its founding mission of providing accessible, high-quality theatre experiences to the people of Clay County and beyond. The group continues to rely on the dedication and hard work of its many volunteers, who have helped make the organization a vital part of the local arts community.
