Unleash Your Child's Creativity with Young Actors Theatre!

The Young Actors Theatre program at the Community Theatre of Clay County is an excellent opportunity for young children to experience the world of theatre. The program offers a full stage production experience for children, where children learn about all aspects of theatre production. It opens up a world of creativity and self-expression through acting, singing and dance movements.

Auditions for Young Actors Theatre at CTCC

If your child has a passion for acting or performing, auditioning for Young Actors Theatre at CTCC is a great opportunity. This years auditions will be held July 31st and Aug 1 at 5:30 and are open to children ages 6 to 18.

What should I expect at auditions?

Some children might be nervous about reading in front of everyone. Have no fear, no cold readings are here! The director will give children a line to say, and the child will say it, doing their past to act out the part. Children will be put into age groups, and groups of 3-4 at a time will do their lines together.

What to prepare: It’s up to you! You don’t need to prepare anything to audition for this special show. However, if you’d like to present part of a song, a short monologue, a tumbling trick, or any other special talent, that is welcome! We only ask that you keep it under one minute. This is common in grown-up theatre, so it’s really great practice!

There are two nights of auditions. You can come to one night or both nights. There are no callbacks.

There is no pianist, but there is a piano available. You can play the piano, bring someone to play for you, sing along with a track, or sing acapella. The choice is yours!

VERY IMPORTANT!

All children must bring a calendar of conflicts that they have in the evenings from the date of auditions up until tech week. All children must attend every night of tech week and every night of show week.
